Twitter Cards for your website.

This is not about Twitter share or follow buttons for your site. You should already have those essential features available to your visitors. This is about simple code that you can add to any of your web pages that attaches information when someone shares content from your page or someone creates a tweet with a link to one of your pages.
In this example, Summary Card code had been added to the company's website. In my tweet, I included the company's website link www.skateanywhere.ca. My followers who select that tweet from their timeline are automatically presented with additional information about the company as you can see in the image.
From a marketing perspective, this digital tool allows you to describe your company or brand in your own words, images or video, drive traffic to your site and look at performance through analytic reports provided by Twitter.
Twitter has a few other types of cards to achieve different outcomes for your content. You need to be comfortable with adding meta tag code to your site and be able to provide the properties or assets required to generate the card. If not, contact your resident web guru or seek the services of digital presence experts like www.HockeySciTech.ca

Twitter Lead Generation Cards.

We've been using Twitter lead generation cards for our own business and some of the brands and accounts that we work with.

When a user taps or clicks your card in their timeline, their email address is automatically shared with you for follow up.  Creating a card is fairly simple.  Select an image file that represents your company or brand, give it a headline, provide a call-to-action and a link to a website, PDF or video for the user to access more information.  The card is saved so you can attach it to a tweet to send immediately, schedule it for sending later or include it in a paid campaign.

You'll need to set-up your advertising profile with Twitter first.  Go to http://ads.twitter.com and login with your Twitter account, follow the instructions, click on the Creatives menu at the top of the page and select Cards to create your first one.  Have a look around the portal for other tools that will help you manage your social presence.
